What it is:

For over 40 years Wolverine Camps has focused on the fundamentals of what students need to become the best they can. With this years newest addition of fundamental camps, Soccer Camp, Ed Fantozzi's philosophy is the same as ours: First understand the fundamentals and build a strong foundation. Perfect practice makes perfect performance, so they strive to teach students the most efficient and effective ways to take their game to the next level.

Ed Fantozzi, Director

Coach Fantozzi comes to Wolverine Camps with a wealth of knowledge, years of practical sports experience, and a strong passion to help others achieve their goals. His friendly personality and energetic motivational skills make him an integral part of our qualified team of professional staff. Ed has a background that includes coaching soccer at the High School level, and is the Owner and Director of Coaching of VARDAR NM Soccer club.  His experience has allowed him to work with athletes of different age groups throughout his career, giving him insight into the development of an athlete both physically and psychologically. Sport, in particular soccer, has been a passion of his for over 40 years. As a former Division 1 All-American soccer player for Eastern Michigan University, Ed understands what is necessary to be a successful player and team-mate.  Additionally, Ed is licensed through National Soccer Coaches Association of America and the United States Soccer Federation and holds one of the highest soccer coaching licenses in the country, the National Advanced Coaching Diploma.

Ed’s coaching philosophy has always been the driving force of his programs:

“Understanding that playing sports and possessing the values inherent in sports, compose responsible citizenship.  I believe that values associated with the sporting spirit and the attitudes and behavior, which characterize a good sports player, are identical to those upheld by a good citizen. I am convinced that the values of the sporting spirit are the values of civic responsibility. Hence, sport is an extremely transformational and efficient vehicle for nurturing and preparing our athletes for success in the classroom, on the field and in life.”
